Tiwatope Omolara Savage, widely known as Tiwa Savage, is a prominent Nigerian singer, songwriter, and actress born on February 5, 1980, in Isale Eko, Lagos State, Nigeria. She moved to London at the age of 11 for her secondary education and later pursued a career in music.
 
 
Early Life and Education
Savage's early exposure to music began when she participated in her school orchestra as a trombone player. After completing her secondary education, she graduated with a degree in accounting from the University of Kent. Her passion for music led her to enroll at the Berklee College of Music, where she graduated with a degree in professional music in 2007.
 
Career Beginnings
Tiwa Savage's music career took off when she began working as a backup vocalist for renowned artists such as George Michael, Mary J. Blige, and Kelly Clarkson at the age of 16. She gained further recognition by participating in the UK edition of The X Factor, where she reached the final 24 contestants. In 2009, she signed a publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing, marking a significant step in her songwriting career.
